I'm a technology Analyst probably one of the only generalists still left in the market. I'm an ex-Senior Research Fellow for Forrester, write for a variety of technology publications including Dark Reading, TechNewsWorld, Datamation, Digital Trends, TGdaily, ITBusiness Edge, and do WSJ Radio every other Thursday. I also have a syndicated TV show called Tech Close Up (I do the Fast Forward Segment). I'm an avid Sci-Fi reader and have as hobbies MMOs, Sporting Clays, building my own PCs, and torturing my wife with the latest home gadgets. I run a little Analyst firm with my wife (who is doing two start ups and keeping the books) a PR specialist and a sales specialist.
I have 2 dogs and 4 cats. The dogs are a Klee Kai (miniature Husky) and Schipperke. Cats are two Main Coons, a Norwegian Forest Cat, and Siamese mix. The animals have their own room and generally get room service, I have the sneaking suspicion that I actually work for them. I drove an FX45 and am seriously thinking of buying a Fisker. http://karma.fiskerautomotive.com/gallery/index
I love debate and often have advocated pro-con pieces at a variety of publications, however too often the fans of the other side start taking it personally and I get really tired of personal threats and name calling. I think debate is one of the best ways to really explore an issue but have been surprised at the number of people who really don't want to hear alternative views. In the end though I remain fascinated by people and hope this will result in some interesting conversations that will leave me with both things I can write about (my pieces are generally opinion pieces) and a wider knowledge and appreciation for things.
