I like your topic.

I agree that both the Internet and cyber crime are still in their
infancy. I would add that we still do not know where technology will
take us.

However, I disagree with your argument that the level of crime will have
to subside. By that reasoning, a mature society (are we one?) would have
no crime.

I also disagree that the system will fail if the level of crime does not
decrease. Society adapts. We will find a way to continue to do "things"
online, regardless how hostile the environment gets. Countries fight
wars for decades (or centuries, in some cases) and life goes on.

Cyber crime will continue to increase. We will adapt.

Hopefully, we can make cyber crime less attractive, which would mean
that the level of crime we are seeing may not continue to increase at
its present rate, but increase it will.

Finally, baring some new miracle drug, I think a large number of us will
be dead long before 50 years is reached.
